The auctioneer will not accept any bid on a registration that is below the published reserve price. If a registration does not receive a bid at reserve price or above, it will be declared as "Unsold" by the auctioneer and will not be re-offered for sale at that Auction. The DVLA may, at its discretion, include such registrations in future Auctions or DVLA Online Auctions or may enter them into its telesales facility without prior notice.

If you want to sell your registration we suggest you approach a private dealer or advertise the registration for sale yourself. DVLA's sales scheme is confined to selling it's own previously unissued registrations. We do not endorse or recommend any particular individual or company.

If you are buying a DVLA personalised registration for, or on behalf of another person you will be recorded as the purchaser and the person for whom the registration has been bought for will be recorded as the nominee. The registration mark will then be able to be put on a vehicle registered in your name or that of the nominee. If you are buying a registration on behalf of a company we will record the company's name as the purchaser.

No. Immediately on the fall of the hammer at a DVLA Auction or at the close of a DVLA Online Auction, a legally binding contract is formed between the purchaser and DVLA.
